, The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same.
To all ivhom it concern.-
" Be it known that I, JOHN OYESTER, of Osborn,
county of Greene, and State of Ohio, have invented an Improved Feather-Renovator; and I do hereby declare the following to be an exact description thereof, reference being bad ';to th accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, ma];-
ing a partof this specification, in which- Figure 1 represents a longitudinal section of the ,renovato'r. v 1 i T Figure 2 is a top view of the same, i The nature of my invention consists in the construction of-tlie double cylindrical renovator, as arranged and combined with its centre and outside air and steam-pipes, and'the manner of revolving the outside 'cylinderby an outside belt, drum, and crank.

' B, the upright frame that supports the drum-wheel C, that revolves the belt D, that surroundsthe cylinder E, thatis operated by the crank F.
G is the steam-pipe that discharges the steam through the inner perforated cylinder H at one end,
for. the purpose of washing and cleansing the-feathers in the outside cylinder, or renovator E, the inner cylinder H being stationary, whilst the outer cylinder E revolves around it, the stop-cook J being closed during the steaming-process.
Afterthe feathers have been thoroughly steamed and purified, the stop-cock is then closed, and the stopcock J opened, and hot, dry air is passed into the funnel L, and throngh the outside pipe -M into the perforated cylinder-H, at the opposite end of cylinder E. The hot air then passes through the perforations of cylinder H on to the feathers, completely drying them and purifying them, whilst the outer cylinder E is being revolved by the belt'D and by means of the drum 0 and crank F.
The feathers are inserted and again removed at the aperture P, thatis closed by a sliding and perforated cover R.
I'do not claim a cylindrical renovator, nor pipes passing through a cylinder for the purpose of discharging steam and hot air in the cylinder, as they have been usedbeforegbut What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, .is--
The construction of a double cylinder, the inner one,
B, being perforated and stationary, admitting steam at one end, and hot air through an outside funnelmouthed pipe M at the other end, whilst the outside cylinder E is revolved by the drumO and outside belt D, when arranged, combined, and operated as herein described and for the purpose set forth.
