No. scenes;
To all whomit may concern: v
Be it known that 1, PAUL Dncssmr, esubject of the German Emperor, residing at Remscheid, in the Empire of Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Elastic Suspensions for the Filaments of Electric'lncendescent Lamps, of which the following is c specification. This invention relates to improvements in electric incandescent lamps and has perticuler reference to lamps of the metallic filaments type which are especially liable to become injured by vibrations or injudicious handling and the object of the invention is to provide for elastic suspension of the filaments to reduce the efiect of shock or vibration on the lamp filament.
The accompanying drawing is an elevation partly in section of a metallic filament lamp embodying my improvements.
In the drawing a designates e filament carrier connected with the socket o of the lamp.-
To the filament carrier is secured by a coil s rin d s filament holder The stem of the filament holder is'secured at its opposite end to the bulb f by means of a. coil spri g. If desired, 1 may provide lets-rel springs v st any desired position in ermediete theends of the stem of the filament holder to connect said holder with the sides of the bulb f as illustrated. l
The current is taken from the filament can rier c by coiled conductin wires 4'. and t to the suspended filament older 0 as illustrated. In some cases the coiled conductmg wires '5. and 2f Wlll furnish the required elasticity for the suspended filament holder.
The best results are, however, obtained by the use of sprin s d, g and h in addition thereto. it is dbvious that the number,

form and arrangement of the springs above referred to may be Widely varied-Within the spirit of my invention. The s rings have a greatly lengthen the life of the lamp perticulerly esthey. absorb vibrations and preventfriction and breakage of the filaments in their retainiri elements or hooks 70. For this reason at erger number of the retaining hooks than is at present employed can be advantageously used.
Having described my invention, I claim, 1. Iii-an electric filament lamp, on internal rigid filament carrier, 8. rigid filementfholder supported'thereby by an elastic sup orting means and filaments carried-by said 'ement holder and connected with the filament carrier by coiled conducting wires.
ment spiral suspenslon s ,rmg' secured to send carrier, an indepen entv file:
ment holder secured to said spring and 'e,
spring connecti the opposite end'of said holder with an a jecent portion of thebulb.
- 3. In en electrip filament lamp, 9. ri id file.- ment cerrier, an independent suspended filament holder having one end thereof secured to said carrier and the other end secured to.
laments and in an electric filament lamp, erigidfileen adjacent portion of the bulb by spirel s, substantially as described. A y 7 11 an electric filament lamp, :1. s rin ilxlfgended filament holder, end an si e er springs therefor, j netellic filaments carried by said holder and "coiled conducting Wires connecting said filaments with leadingin Wires, substentialiy as described.
