Be it known that I, WILHELM BntoMANN,
a subject of the King of Prussia, residing at 23 Bornstrasse, Dortmund, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improve ments in Apparatus for Tipping Foundry- Ladles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention. I
This invention consists in an improved apparatus for tipping foundry ladies by means of which the ladle can-be lifted off its carriage and tipped in one movement, so that the liquid metal can be poured outwith the greatest possible uniformity;
, The apparatus consists substantially of two rotary disks or wheels arranged inde pendently of the ladle, between which the ladle supported on its carriage is introduced and by which it is engaged in such a manner that by rotating the said wheels the ladle will be lifted. off its carriage and tipped.
The connection between the ladle and the wheels may be effected by providing the lat ter with open bearings adapted to receive pins arranged on the sides of the upper part of the ladle, and also with an arm, preferably constructed as a connecting bar, adapted to come against the lower part of the front of the ladle. X
By the rotation of, the Wheels the ladle is first lifted ofl' its carriage by means of the bearings engaging with its upper side pins, and then, as the arm on the wheels comes against the front ofthe ladle, the ladle is tipped thereby. The arrangement is preferably such that the spout of the-ladle in tipping, will be situated in the axis of rotation of the two wheels.
