Be it known that l, Ina T. Lien, a citizen of the 1United States, residing at Gurdon, in the (-onniy of iark, Stat-e of Arkansas, have invented certain new and useful 'Improvements in Store-Goods Lifters; and I do hereby deelare the following to he a full, clear, and exaet desernion of theinvention, such as will enahle others skilled in the. art to which it appertains to make and use the saine.
This invention relates to store goods lif ters and has for iis ohjeetto provide a simple device of this rharaeter which shall be ellieient in action and easy to operate.

Telescopieally mounted in the shaft 14 is a similar shaft 17, provided en one of its face-s with a series of' rack teeth 18, said series of a point near thel top of the saine. The front face of the shaft 14, ad'acent the rack teeth 1S 0n the shaft 17, is slotted as at 19 at its upper end to receive a pinion 2O on a shaft 21 mounted in suitable hearings on the shaft 14. Keyed to the shaft 21 near one. of its ends is a. sprocket `gear '22 and a sprocket chain 23 Connects said gear with a similar gear 24 disposed heneath they sante, en a shaft Z5 to the end of which is keyed a pinion 26 adapted to mesh with a. gear 27 on a shaft 2S also snitabi;v supported on the shaft 14. It will be readily seen that when the cord 64 is pulled downwardly the rods 59 and 61 and the link 63 will assume a position shown by dotted lines in Fig. 3, thereby disengaging the hook 60 from the ring on the box or other article to be moved. A coil spring 65 cornected at one end to the pivot 62 and at the other end y o a cross bar 63 of the frame 4S serves to return the rods to their normal position. A cord or rope 66 is connected to the body ortion of the finger plate 50 as at 67, exten( s over a guide pulley 68 and the front edge of the plate 47, and hangs within the o erators reach. It being desired to extend t e ringer plate 50, the same being in its rc tracted position, the cord or rope 66 is pulled downwardly until the catch 53 is in engagenent with the aperture 53*l in the finger ate. When itis desired to remove a box from one shelf and transport it to another shelf and deposit it thereon, the truck is moved to a position op osite the box and the shaft 17 elevated so t iat the box removing mechanism is 1n prope:` osition to engage the box. The shafts ,16 an 17 are then tilted and the truck, a lever pivoted on said standard and having rollers on the' end thereof adjacent the said shaft, a bearing on said shaft fori A said rollers, and means on said shaft to engage and support a box or the like.
