To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ADELL D. ALBRECHT, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Greenville, in the county of Bond and State of Illinois, have invented a new and Improved Paper and Letter Holder, of which tie fol lowing is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates todevices for holding newspapers, letters and similar articles.

The object of the invention is to reduce a device of this class which is simple in construction and which can be readily mounted upon a wall or post for the purpose stated.

More specifically, the ob ect of the invention is to construct the device so that it can be economically manufactured. To this end, the body of the device is of special construction, which adapts it for being formed of stamped sheet metal.

Further ob'ects of the invention will appear more fully hereinafter.

The invention consists in the construction and combination of parts to be more fully described hereinafter and particularly set forth in the claims.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in bothfigures.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of the device, representin the same as attached to a door. jan b, and showing how it operates to hold a number of letters; and Fig. 2 is a side or edge elevation of the device.

Special attention is called, alsoto the fact that the coils 10 are disposed at-. a'considerable distance from the body of the letters or papers held in the holder. This is a highly advantageous arrangement, as it o erates to maintain the bars'8 in substantia parallelism with the face of the door jamb as the number of letters or papers increases. Having thus described my invention, I claim as ne and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

1.' A device of the class described, com prising a wall plate having a transverse sleeve on the upper edge thereof, and guide hooks formed at the ends thereof, said guide hooks being bills projecting inwardly toward the plane 0 oil'set outwardly, and havin said wall plate, an arm having oppositely disposed 1parallel bars extending downwardly throng said hooks and having coils formed at a oint below said hooks, said coils having formed therebeyond extending upshan wardly, said shanks having pivots formed thereon received in the ends of said sleeve, the upper ends of said arms having, outwardly curved guide lips, said arms being connected beyond said guide lips by a transverse bar ofi'set outwardly from the plane thereof.
