To all whom-it may concern: I
Be it known that I, JOHAN ROBERT Dning at Lysaker, near- Christiania, Norway; have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Means for Hauling Up Boats; and I do hereb declare the following to be a an exact description of the in vention, such as 'will enable others skilled in the art to which'itappertai'ns to make and use, the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked" thereon, which form apart of this specification. My invention relates to means for facilitat ing the hauling up of boats. Heretofore' boats, such' as motorboats, etc., have been with the axis of the boat. On shores, ex-F on steep shores, thismode of hauling'up boats with difiicult'i'es and heavy' boats: such ;as motor bythefishing men) could not ossibly be hauled up 'in this manner un er circum'-? stances as above without damage to thef Myjinvention is based upon hauling up the boat'in a transversal direction and consists in sui able means for this purpose comprising a: suitably constructed cradle or truck, In the drawing Figure 1 shows a side view Fig; 2 and Fig, 3 are respectively horizontah On the shore fixed-two ormore rails A,-
runnirgdowninto the water. A cradle or- 5 truck onthese rails the rollers G of the same having preferably bearingswvith bent lower ends .D,-as shown in Fig.4; thereby pre rails whenlowered down into the water. The
venta boat;-lying as shown in Fig. 1 from beabove the water, the cradle may speedily be hauled; up out of the "water, -=whereu on the boat *mayb'e suitably-blocked up be or'e it is Specification of Letters-Patent,

and G'- ona crankshaft H with removable crank P; :P ara'llel"with the crankshaft H is journaled another crankshaft ,R, provided with a large e'arwheel'O'meshin with a small gearwhee N on the shaft H. en the crank P is placed on this'shaft the shaft or beam E may be turned withgreat speed. I
From the shaft E to the cradle runs a 1'0 e I, it being laid over three pulleys K on t e cradle and over two pulleys L on the foot M of the frame F. By carrying the-rope in this manner it will always adjust itself.
Claims. s 1; A device of the character 00m rising the combination with ways exten mg into the water, of a cradle adapted to support andretain a boat broadside, andprovided-witha wormwheelfG, with described,
mechanism for hauling the cradle and boat fb roadside on the Ways.
2. A device of the character described,
comprising the combination with inclined waysor rai -ls extending into the water, of a lc radle provided with means for supporting {and retaining a boat broadside, and mecha 'anism forfhauling the cradle and boat broadside on the ways.
3. A device of the character described, comprising the combination with inclined b s may resttransversely, and mechani sm for hauling the cradle' and boat broadside on the -ways extending into the water,
rovided'withthe 0 positely inclined blocks -B"-between-whicli versely on the cradle, and mechanism for hauling-the cradle and boat broadside on the ing arms embracing the"rails, oppos1tely inof a cradle provided with chocks or forming a saddle upon which a boat I .device of the charactercomprising the combination with inchned' of a cradlel aboat may rest trans- I clinedblocks carried by said cradle, and 1 mechanism for hauling the cradle on the rails.
In testimony that I claim'the'foregoing as my invention, I havexsigned my name in presence of two subscribingkwitn'esses.
