Against the outer and inner surfaces of the lower end rail as at the central and end points thereof are secured, in any approved manner, roller bracket plates b5 having pivoted between their lower ends rollers B2 adapted to engage in said circular guide way. Against the outer and inner surfaces of said top and bottom rails are rigidly secured in any approved manner the extremities of vertical slats or strips'Bs, having their edges provided with tongues and grooves for joining them. To the inner surface of the top rail is secured in any approved manner the peripheral edge of a practically semi-circular plate B4, completing said cylindrical body. At the required points, the end posts t7 are provided with hand grips or knobs B5 whereby said cylindrical body is rotated, opening or closing said cabinet. Against the inner surface of the lower end rail and between the roller bracket plates b5 are secured strips or pieces b of any approved packing, as of india rubber to cover the space between the lower ends of the inside strips B3 and the upper surface of the cabinet bottom. Against the outer edges of the end posts b2 are secured in any approved manner strips BG to cover said edges and to engage against the forward ends of the end walls, closing spaces which may form therebetween when the cabinet is closed. Against the forward edge of the plate a3 and before the molding A2 is affixed in place, is rigidly secured in any approved manner the upper end of a packing strip b7 being of such a width that its lower end edge will engage on the top surface of said plate B4, closing the space which may form therebetween. At the required point adjacent to the forward edge of the top plate a3 and at the required point adjacent to the rear end edge of the plate B4, on their respective center lines, said plates are provided with registering orifices through which a tube B7 of the required dimensions is inserted, said tube having at its upper end a head bs with screws 7) therethrough, and its lower end screwthreaded with a washer b placed thereon and a nut B8 screwed home on said screwthreaded end and against said washer, rotatably pivote ing said cylindrical body and casing together, thus completing the cabinet.
In the drawing the numeral 1 designates a telephone of the Bell type, but any other form or make of instrument may be used in place, which telephone is located in the upper portion of the casing and is rigidly securec in any approved manner to the inner or concave surface of the semicylindrical body B, so as to be inclosed in the cabinet when said semi-cylindiical body is rotated so as to close the open front end Extending across the top of the casing from rear to front, on the center line of the plate (1 is a roll 2 of the usual strands of wires which are here shown to be twisted together, and secured in place in any approved manner, electrically connecting the telephone with an electric source not shown in the drawing, said roll having its forward end 3 downwardly curving and passing through the tube. Said tube B7, keeping said roll of strands in place and preventing it from twisting or untwisting, when said cylindrical body is rotated for the )urpose of closing or opening the front of sait casing.
The invention having thus been ascer tained and described and the manner in which its functions are performed fully shown and set forth, what is considered .new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is :-v
1. In a telephone cabinet, in combination, the casing A1, comprising the rear end wall 1., the right end wall al, the left end wall aff, the top plate a3, the bottom plate a, said plates and walls having their adjacent end edges rigidly secured together in any approved manner; the molding A2 adjacent to the lower end edge thereof rigidly secured to the forward end edge of the top plate a with the elastic strip 57 therebetween, and the tube B7 assing through the top plate a", said tube raving at its ujiper end the head bf to en ga ge on top of 'sait plate a?, with the screws b passing therethrough and into the body of said top plate to secure said head and tube in place, said tube adapted to pivot thereto the upper end of the telephone inclosing body, substantially as described and for the purpose hereinbefore set forth.
2. The combination in a tele )hone cabinet with the casing A1 as describe of the cylindrical body B comprising the upper and lower practically semi-circular end rails b and b1, having the posts b2 joining the extremities thereof and the post b3 connecting their een ters, with the interstices or spaces b between said posts and top and bottom rails, and the packing B1 inserted in said interstices; the vertical slats or strips B3 as described having their extremities rigidly secured in any approved manner to the concave and convex edges of said up )er and, lower end rails, with the semi-circu ar plate B having its 'peof the casing A.

3. In a telephone cabinet having the casing A1 as described, the combination with the cylindrical body B as described and revolubly mounted within said casing, said cylindrical body having the top and bottom `rails b and b1 with the vertical slats having their extremities secured to the concave and convex edges thereof, of the roller bracket plates b5 thereof; the telephone 1 mounted on and rigidly secured in any approved manner to the concaved surface of a cylindrical body above the horizontal center line thereof, and the coil of wires through the pivoting tube B7 electrically connecting said telephone with an approved electric source before mentioned, substantially as described and for the purpose hereinbefore set forth.
