Having" thus fully described my invention what I elaizn as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In atool feeding mechanism, the combination, with the reciprocating parts, for controlling the reciprocating movement of the stock, of a rotary drive having a source of power otherthan said reciprocating parts, an intcrniittentlj rotating part having tooh feeding conneetion, intermittent driving eonneetion between said rotary drive and intermittently rotating part, and edjnstahle control between said intermittent driving connection and said reciprocating parts, substantially osidescribed.
2. In a tool-feeding mechanism, the some bination with the reeiproc ating "stoolr-rnovin parts, of a driving member rotatable in a constant direction having a source of power other than said reei irecating stoelonioving parts,"a driven part raving tool -feedin eon.- nec-tion, connecting means between the latter and said driving-men1be1g means actuated from one or more of said reciprocating stool?- moving parts for influeneine' the operation of said connecting means, one an intermediate adjustment; in said latter means for deter-- mining the moment-oi operstionoi said eon neeting means. i I

4. In a tool-feeding mechanism, the combination with the reciprocating arts comprising the table and reciprocating driving arts therefor, of a driving member rotatale in a constant direction from a source of power other than said reciprocating table and parts, a driven member having toolfeeding connection, operating means between said driving member and driven member, and means having connection with one or more of said reciprocating parts for influencing the operative connection in said 0 erating means and causing operation 0 said driven member at both ends of movement of said reciprocating table, substantially as described.
5. In a tool feeding mechanism for a metal planer, the combination of a driving member rotatable in a constant direction, a driven member having tool-feeding connection, releasable driving connection between said members, a member for elfecting table-reversal, and an operatively spaced connection between said latter member and said releasable driving connection for dcterminin the moment of tool-feed relatively to tab e-re versal, substantially as described.
6. In a tool-feeding mechanism for a metal planer, the combination of a driving member rotatable in a constant direction, a driven member having tool-feeding connection, driving means between said members, tripping mechanism for effecting operative conncction in said driving means, a rod therefor, a member for effecting table-reversal, and an operatively spaced connection between said last-named member and said rod for the purpose described.

Ina metal planing machine, the combination witha reciprocating table and means for controlling the reciprocations of said table, of a tool-feeding mechanism comprising a driving member rotatable in a constant direction, a driven member having tool-feeding connection, driving means between said members, tripping mechanism for effecting operative connection in said drivin means, a rod depending therefrom, a memiier for oi fecting table-reversal, and spaced op connection between said last-named member and rod, substantially as described.

In a tool-feeding mechanism for planer the combination of a driving rotatable in a constant direction, i member having tool-feeding CODHGOIGL leasable driving connection bctwee members, a member for die. versal, and an adjustable connc. said latter member and said rele ing connection for determining the moment of tool-feed relatively to table-reversal, substantially as described.

In a tool-feeding mechanism for a metal planer the combination of a driving member rotatable in a constant direction, a driven member having tool-feeding connection, driving means between said members, tripping mechanism for effecting operative connection in said driving means, a rod therefor, a member for effecting table-reversal, and adjustable operative connection between said last-named member and said rod for the purpose described,

In a metal planing machine, the com-- bination with a reciprocating table and means for controlling the reciprocations of said table, oi a tool-feeding mechanism comprisin a driving member rotatable in a constant direction, a driven member having toolfeeding connection, driving means between said members, tripping mechanism for eifccting operative connection in said driving means, a rod depending therefrom, a memher for cilecting table-reversal, a tnppct-arm operated thcreb and adjustable iappets therefor on saic rod, substantially as described.
