LEO REDER, OF ESSEN-ON-THE-RUHR, GERMANY.
WINDOW-CURTAIN ROD.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 16, 1908.
Application filed November 6, 1907. Serial No. 400,924.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEO REDER, a subject of the German Em eror, and resident of Essen-onthe-Ruhr, er-many, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in I/Vindow-Curtain Rods, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved win- (low-curtain rod which is shown on the accompanying drawing in which Figure 1 shows the same in front view, as provided with a sliding member, rings, and two curtains suspended therefrom; while Fig. 2 shows the rod with the sliding member only, in front view; Fig. 3 a plan view of the rod with the sliding member and the curtain rings arranged thereon; and Fig. 4 the rod along in front view.
The curtain-rod essentially consists of a round rod, or tube, a which on one half of its length is provided with a groove, 01' slot respectively, b. In this slot a sliding member 0 is guided in such a manner that between the two rings (1 and (1 designed to hold the sliding member on the rod a strap f is bent to project into said groove or slot. The free arm of the sliding member terminates in an eye n.
One curtain 0 is in the known manner suspended by rings Z from one half of the curtain rod (1, the first ring Z being connected to the pulling cord m in the known manner, While the other curtain '11 is suspended partly by slidable rings 1c from the rod 00 and partly by slidable rings 76 from the sliding arm 0, the first ring 7c, hanging in the eye a of the arm 0, being connected to the pulling cord m.
By pulling the cord m or m the two curtains can be easily moved along each other, the curtain i being held apart from the curtain 0 by the sliding arm 0.
Having fully described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A window-curtain rod comprising in con1- bination, a rod provided on one half of its length with a slot, and a sliding arm having two rings to encircle said rod and a strap between said rings having a projection to en gage said slot and an eye on its free end, for i the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set.
my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
LEO REDER. Witnesses:
