IMPROVENIENT DEVICE POB. HOLDING EDGE-TOOLS WHILE BEING GROUND.

To all who/mit ma/y concern Be it known that I, PATRICK V. DUNN, of Calamus, in the county of Dodge, and State of Wisconsin, have invented a new and useful Improvement; in Device for Holding Edged Tools, Gun-Barrels, Rods, or other articles upon Grindstones or Emery-Wheels, while in the Process of being Ground or Polished; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, making a part of this specication, in which the drawing is a perspective view of my invention, showing the method of using the same.
This invention consists of an oblong frame, of any suitable material, of sufficient length and width for the stone or wheel to play, over'which the device is to be used. A
From the endsof this frame, handles are extended, for the purpose of guiding or operating the same.
To the sides of the frame are attached adjustable standards, which may be raised or lowered, placed back or forward of the stone, and secured in place by thumbscrews.
Ou the top of the standard is a revolving head, from which an arm -extends on either side.
Upon these arms rollers may be adj usted according to the size or thickness of the article being polished or ground, the article being held upon the stone by means of this arm, between which and the stone the article being ground is moved either rapidly or slowly, in proportion as the rollers are set obliquely to the stone.
