TYPE-WRITER ATTACEIMENT.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN P. GLORE, a citizen of the United States, residing at No. 58 Neal street, Atlanta, in the county of Fulton and State of Georgia, have invented a new and useful Type-WVriter Attachment, of
which the followingis a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in typewriter attachments and more particular y to copy. holders to be used with typewritingmachines.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple and cheap copy holder which may be secured to the typewriter, or the table upon which the machine rests, in such a manner that the paper to be copied and placed therein is. presented most conveniently to the vision of the o erator.
The prefera le form of my invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,

My improved typewriter attachment comprises a copy holder and a bracket or frame for supporting and attaching the same. The frame is composed of two curved arms, 0, c, joined at their upper extremities by a hori zontal plate, (Z, and the frame is preferably constructed of a single piece of metal of uniform width and thicknessbent into the desired shape as shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3. The

the frame and the lower or free ends of the arms 0 are provided with any suitable means to attach the same to the typewriting machine or table.
The copy holder comprises a main roller, a, mounted on a shaft, 6, passing through the arms, 0, and a smaller or auxiliary roller, f, rotatably mounted between the arms, 0, parallel with and in close proximity to the main roller, a. Handles, b, are provided at each end of the shaft, 6, by which the main roller may be rotated. The plate, (1, passes across the front and below the center of the main roller.

ft is a spring pawl secured to plate at and engages the ratchet wheel, g, to ho d the same in position but allows the rotation thereof.
i is a paper guide secured to the arms, 0, extending downward to the auxiliary roller from the rear of the main roller.
7c, 7c are resilient strips secured to the plate (Z passing under the roller a and extending rearwardly and upwardly to the roller f.
Z, Z are spring pressed guide rollers secured to the plate (Z and engage the surface of the main roller near each end thereof.
m is a curved strip extending u wardly from the plate d in the direction of t e main roller, a, and acts as a paper guide. The trip m may be graduated to correspond with the scale on the typewriter, if desired.
The operation is as follows. The paper to be copied is inserted between the rear paper guide and the main roller until it is engaged by the auxiliary roller, then the handle on the shaft of the main roller is grasped and rotated which in turn rotates the main roller and the aper is drawn forward between the main ro ler and the lower guide strips. Then the forward end of the paper rojects above the front plate, (Z, it is engage T by the small spring pressed rollers and is directed upward as Well as held against the main roller.
Having now described the construction and operation of my invention, what I claim is,
1. In a copy holder, a one piece frame having a central horizontal front plate and depending free supporting arms extending therefrom, a main paper roll and an auxiliary paper roll, both mounted between said arms, in proximity to each other and adja cent to said front plate, a paper guide secured to the said arms at the rear of the main roller, )aper guides extending under the main ro ler from the auxiliary roller to the front plate, a ratchet wheel on said main roller and a spring pawl adapted to engage therewith carried by the front plate.
2. In a co y holder, a one piece frame having a centraT horizontal front plate and depending free supporting arms extending therefrom, a main and an auxiliary paper roller, both mounted between said arms in proximity to each other and the main roller adjacent the front plate, a-paper guide secured between the arms at the rear of the main roller and extending to the auxiliary roller, paper guides extending under the main roller from the front plate to the auxiliary roller, and a plurality of paper guides 10 secured above the front plate comprising guide rollers and a guide stri JOH P.
