In this form the forward end ol the plunger 16 is cupped to fit the external circumference of the cap 18 and is slightly tapered vertically so as to pass beneaththe bottom of the next higher cap.

I claim as my invention:
1. The cpmbination, with a feeding table, of a cap-holding tube. arranged over the table and movable toward and from the table, a cap ejecting member adapted to engage the interior of the initial cap, and means for driving the ejecting member beneath the said tube. i
The combination, with a feeding table, of a cap-holding tubelarranged over the table and movable toward and from the table, a cap-ejecting plunger, means for carrying cans sueeessively'beneath the table, means operated'by the cans for operating the plunger, and means operated by the cans for depositm e ected caps upon the cans.
3. 'i e combination, with a feeding. table, of means for carrying cans in succession beneath said table, a ca -holding tube arranged above the table an movable toward and from the table, a plunger mounted on the table and adapted to be projected beneath said tube, a portion. of said plunger lying initially beneath the tube and adapted to enter the cupped under-side of the lowermost "5- cap, means operated by the cans for. reciprocating said plunger, and means operated by the cans for shoving the-ejected caps from lintahle and depositing them upon the cans.

5. .The combination, with means for hold ing-a series of nested cupped elements in av stack, which means comprises a guard yieldingly movable axially of the stack and engaging two or more of the cupped elements thereof, of ejecting means movable transversely of the line of movement of said yielding guard and adapted to engage the interior of the initial element of the stack and project the same beneath the guard.
6. The combination, with means for holding a series of can caps in an, axial stack, means for ejectin said caps successively therefrom, a guard forming a part of the stack forming means and arranged to cooperate with said ejectin means and yieldable in the line of thicl rnes's of the caps, means for feeding cans in succession to capreceiving position, and means 0 erated by the cans for depositing the ejecte capsupon to project the same transversely of the stack,
and means for on aging the remaining eleand holding the same against transverse displacement.
