Referring now particularly to Figs. 7 to 9 it is to be stated that the devices shown in these figures differ from the described de- 1 vices only in so far that means are provided for allowing the light tightcover of the package to be shifted from the pile of sensitive lates which is thicker than the pile of films. n this instance simple ribs like the ribs 7c in Fig. 5 would not be sufhcient to secure at the same time light tight jamming of the flaps g and to allowthe passage of thepile of plates between such ribs. Now the package of plates illustrated in Figs. 7 to 9 has a light tight cover which is provided with a bag-like end-piece n at that end of. the cover which is connected thereto. This bag-like end piece consists of foldable material such as paper and has a flap 1) adapted to close the end of the bag by being pasted to the side face of the bag as is clearly shown in Fig. 7 ofthe drawing. 11 is a thread or wire which may be interpo 'd between the flap p and the side into the exposing chamber in the same manner as'formerly described in connection with the package for films. \Nhen. the flap p pasted on the side face of the bag 7L has been cut through by the wire' (1, the bag may be 0 'ened as shown in Fig 8, allowing the p ates contained within the package to pass through the open end ofthe bag, so that the envelop i may be drawn outside the exposing chamber, whereas the plate'sremain within the exposingchamber as shown in Fig. 9@

In the ore-going description 'ithas'been m assumed that the package with sensitized sheets is inserted into the exposing chamber and that thenthe light tight cover is pulled from the films or plates so that the same remain within the exposing chamber whereas the-cover istransported out of the, exposing chamber however remaining in light tight connection with same. The process itself only requiresa collecting chamber outside the exposing chamber and in light tight connection with same and sensitized sheets withinthe exposing chamber and adapted tobe pulled'mto the collecting chamber. Therefore the manipulationabove described may be modified'in such-a manner that instead of inserting the package'into the exposing chamber and pulling the light tight cover off" the sensitizedsheets the package with the sensitized sheets may be lighttightly joined with the exposing chamber from the outside and the sensitized sheets pulled from the light tight cover intothe ex-' osing chamber. The devices above described are however substantially independent from the several modifications of the procedure which may be adopted.
I have shown and described the best means now known to me of embodying my invention without intending to limit myself to the exact, constructions so described and shown except as the scope of the'claims demands.
Having now described my invention what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Pat- 'ent is 1. A device for successively exposing sensitive sheets comprising an exposing chamber having an open mouth and a package comprising sensitive sheets and an inclosinglighttight envelop, said envelop being adapted to be shifted with relation to the sensitive sheets contained therein in such a manner that one element of the package passes through the open mouth of the exposing chamber.
2. A device for successively exposing sensitive sheets comprising an exposinggchamber having an open mouth and a package of sensitive sheets contained in a lighttight envelop, said package to be connected with the exposing chamber, the sensitive sheets being provided at opposite ends outside the envelop with unsensitive extensions and the elements of the package being adapted to be shifted with relation to each other in such a manner, that one element passes through the open mouth of the exposing chamber.
3. A device for successively exposing sensitive sheets comprising an exposing chamber having an open mouth and a package comprising sensitive sheets and' an inclosinglighttight envelop forming one single compartment, each sensitive sheet being provided at least at one end with an extension extending outside the envelop, said envelop being adapted to be shifted with relation to the sensitive sheets contained therein such a manner that one element of the package passes through the open mouth of the exposing chamber.
4. As a new article of manufacture, a package comprising one or more sensitive elements having tabs, and a light-tight envelop slidably mounted thereon.
5. As a new article of manufacture, a pack age comprising one or more sensitive elements each having a long tab on one end and i a short tab on the othe'rend, and a light-tight envelop normally surrounding the sensitive elements and adapted to be moved on to the long tab.
6. As a new article of manufacture, a package comprising one or more sensitive elements having tabs and a light-tight envelop slidably mounted on the sensitive elements and having at least one tab.
7. As a new article of manufacture, a package comprisin'g'oi1e or more sensitive elements having tabs and a light-tight envelop slidably mounted on the sensitive elements, said light-tight envelop being provided at least at one end with light excluding members tightly inclosing the said sensitive elements with tabs.
8. As a new article of manufacture, a package comprising one or more sensitive elements having tabs and a light-tight envelop slidably mounted on the sensitive elements, said light-tight envelop being provided at least at one end with a pair of ribs opposite to each other, the ribs forming a pair tightly inclosing the said sensitive elements with tabs between them.
9. As a new article of manufacture, a package comprising one or more sensitive elements having tabs and a lighttight envelop slidably mounted on the sensitive elements, said light-tight envelop being provided at one ehd with a pair of ribs tightly inclosing the tabs of the sensitive elements between them in a light excluding manner and at the opposite end with a baglike part adapted to form a light-tight closure of t e envelop.
10. The combination of an exposing chamber, a package of sensitive elements removably located therein and having tabs projecting from the opposite ends thereof, and a light tight envelop surrounding the sensitive elements and adapted to be partially drawn out of said exposing chamber, for substantially the purposes set forth.

The combination of an exposing chamher, a package of sensitive elements removably'located therein and having long tabs projecting from one end of the chamber and short tabs projecting tromv the opposite end thereof, and a light tight envelop surrounding the sensitive elements and adapted to be partially drawn out of said chamber so as to cover the long tabs, for substantially the purposes set forth.
