IMPROVED COIFIN-BIER.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, PA'rn'IoKJoYcn, of Rochester,-

in the county of Monroe, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Codin- .Biers and I do hereby declare the following to be a full,

clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, makin ga part ofthis spc- I cification, in which--- Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Figure 2 is a side elevation. My invention consists-'- First, in providing a ooifin-bier, of the kind now generally in use, with a revolving platform, upon hich the cofiin rests, so that, when it is necessary to change the position of the coflin, it maybe done while the cofliin is onthe bier, and without the usual inconvenience of lifting and carrying the coflin or bier. Second, in providing suitable means for elevating the platform upon which the coffin rests, so as to adapt it to the heights of pewsin different churches, and to other requirements.

In the accompanying drawings- A is the coilin-bier, of the general form and size of the common bier now in use.

B is the platform, upon which the coflin rests, and which is provided with a pivot or screw, B, on the under side,'operating Within a nut or box, B fixed in the central cross-board O of the bier.

B, is used, instead of a screw, and are provided with suitable heads (I d, by which they are moved, and may or may not, as desired, have caps, d (1', on their upper ends, to press against the under side of the platform,

to preserve it from wear, and make a' fiimersupport.
