WIND OW-SCREEN.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Q ARLEs H. McGEE, a citizen of the United States of America, residin at Portland, in the county of Cumberland and State of Maine, have invented new and useful Improvements in Window- S creens, of which the following is a specification. v

This invention relates to Window screens, and'one of the principal objects of the same is to provide means for quickly and firmly securing the wire netting to the framework of the screen.

Another object of my invention is to provide a screen frame of two parts in which one of the parts is adapted to be spread to secure the wire netting between the two parts of the frame. I

These and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective viewof a portion of a screen frame with a piece of wire netting secured thereto in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a transverse sectional view taken through the frame and throu h a piece of Wire nettin secured within t e frame. Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the two members forming the frame of the screen with a dpiece of wire netting in position to be secure by spreading the molding member of said frame.

Referring to the drawing for a more particular description, the numeral 1 designates the base member of the frame provided with oppositely disposed

2, 3 is the molding member comprislng oppositely disposed beads 4 connected by a curved intermediate portion 5 and said molding member having terminal flanges 6 which extend outward and at an inclination from the beads 4.

-7 is a piece of wire netting adaptedto be secured between the two members 1 and 3.

To secure the netting between said members, the sheet of wire cloth is bent over the top of one of the flanges 2 of the base portion 1 as shown in Fig. 3 and the molding member 3 which isnormally reduced in width owing to the curvature of the outer portion 5 is placed within the base portion 1, as shown in Fig. 3, and said molding member is then rolled or spread by any suitable Specification of Letters Patent.

means to force the flanges 6outward against the screen material 7, at one edge, and against the flange 2 upon the opposite edge, as shown more particularly in Fig. 2.

Upon reference to Fig. 2 it will be seen that when the molding member 3 is spread, the screen material 7 is clamped between one of the beads 4 and the upper edge of one of the flanges 2 of the base portion 1, said bead forming a stop against which the screen material is clamped.

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a screen frame made in accordance with my invention is of neat appearance, that the wire netting is clamped firmly within the frame, and that the process of securing the netting in place can be quickly carried out, and that the wire netting will be firmly held in place (when secured to the frame.

Having ,thus described the invention, what I claim is:

' 1. A screen frame comprising two members formed of sheet metal, one of said memextending side edges, oppositely disposed beads, and a curved outer face between said beads, said curved face being rolled to s read said edges within the first named mem er to clamp the material forming the screen between said members.

2. A screen framing for securing reticulated material thereto, comprising' two members, one of which is the base'piece with its two opposite sides curved inwardly to wards the same, the. other member having its central portion curved outwardly, said memberbeing also constructed oval shape at the terminals of the central curved to provide oppositely dis osed bea s said second member being furt er provided with oppositely disposed flanges formed at the terminals of the beads, said construction ,of
