Our Invention relates to that type of manure spreaders .having a body mounted upon .carrying wheels, a movable a ron forming a bottom for the body, a distri uting cylinder :mounted at the rear end of the body, an end gate mounted in front of the cylinder and adapted to be raised and lowered vertically in a manner to allow the load to be delivered toward the cylinder during the spreading op eration, or -to Shield the cylinder during the loading operation; the Object of our invention being to provide improved means for adjusting the various operative parts and controlling their movements. When the apron has reached its limit of rearward movement the mechanism for moving it in that direction, and also the means for driving the distributing cylinder, are automatically disconnected, as befcre dey ver-55 in a manner to cause the sprocket wheel 50 'to engagewitli the clutch member 54, and thereby move the apron in a forward direction. When thea ron has nearly reached its limit of forwar movement it contacts with a bracket 9.8 secured to the bar 85 and forcibly moves the bar forward and elevates the foot lever and disconnects the clutch members.
What We claim as our1inven-tion, and desire to vsecure by Letters Patent, is:
1. In a manure spreader, the combination of a body mounted upon carryin wheels, a movable apron operative along t .e bottom ofsaid body, a distributing cylinder mounted above and at the delivery end of said apron, levers fupon opposite sides of said body, said levers having4 their forward ends pivotally connected with said body, an-end gate pivotally connected with the rear end of said levers, means for moving said levers about their ivotal axes, saidmeans com rising a rock-s aft mounted below said bo y, arms secured to opposite ends of said. shaft, links connecting said arms with said .levers intermediate the ends of the latter, and means for rocking said shaft. i

6. In a manure s reader, the combination of abody mounte upon carrying wheels, a movable apron operative along the bottom of said body, a distributing cylinder mounted above and at the delivery end of said apron, a rotatable axle, means whereby motion is transmitted from said axle to said apron to move said apron rearward toward said cylinder, a gear shipping mechanism forming part of said motion transmitting means,
