GEORGE G. WUOHNER, OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY.
BOTTLE.
Specification of Letters '.Patent.
Patented Dec. 3, 1907.
Application filed April 5, 1906. Serial No. 310031.
To all lwhom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, GEORGE G. WUCHNEE, a citizen of the United States,` resident of Louisville, in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have made a certain new and useful Invention in Bottles g and I declare the following to be a full,a clear, and
exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it.
struction and combinations of parts as hereinafter set forth.
In the accompanying drawings illustrating the invention, Figure l is a side view of the bottle 5 and Fig. 2 is a central vertical section of the same.
In these drawings the letter a, designates the bottle, which is provided with an annular shoulder b, at the base of the neck thereof such shoulder projecting beyond the body of the bottle, and below such shoulder lwith an annular groove c, of which the shoulder forms the top wall. In this groove is located an annular washer d, usually of soft rubber.
The bottle, when in place in the apparatus is designed to rest upon this washer d, which is braced at the top by the shoulder b, an opening for the reception of and of about the size of the body portion of the bottle being formed in the top of the apparatus casing. The washer thus prevents escape of cold air from the chamber in which the bottle fits.
The syru bottle or receptacle has a sto per e, loose y fitting within the neck of t e bottle and having a cylindrical measuring cavity, as shown, such stopper being designed to hold and measure one ounce of the liquid contents. The stopper has a solid convex top e', which projects laterally of the hollow stem e2, forming an annular shoulder. This shoulder is provided with a concave walled groove f, which closely engages the convex walled upper edge f', of the bottle neck in order to prevent unnecessary evaporation of the liquid contents. The upper edge f', of the bottle neck is rounded at the top and upon both sides, the groove f, of the stopper closely engaging such top and sides.
An external annular shoulder h, is provided intermediately of the bottle neck, such shoulder being formed in the glass of the bottle as a bead, and providing a convenient hand-hold for lifting the bottle from its place in the ice chamber, when it is desired to serve a customer.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim and desire to obtain by Letters Patent is- A syru bottle for use with soda water apparatus, liaving a body, a neck portion hav- `ing a shouldered base projecting beyond such body, said neck portion having a convex upper edge rounded at the top and upon both sldes, and an intermediate hand-hold shoulder lying between said upper edge and shouldered base, and said body having a shallow annular groove below such shouldered base, a cushion ring in such groove, and a stopper having a loose fittinghollow stem having a measuring cavity of cylindrical form and a solid top having a projecting shoulder provided with a concave annular groove fitting closely against the top and both sides of the rounded upper edge of said neck portion.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature, in presence of two witnesses.
GEORGE G. wUcHNER.
