Description

PATENTED NOV. 5
W. R. CAMERON. ICE CREAM SERVER.
APPLICATION FILED JULY23, 1906.
WILLIAM R. CAMERON, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
ICE-CREAM SERVER.
Specification of Letters Fatent.
Patented Nov. 5, 1907.
Application filed July 231 1906. Serial No. 327,275.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM R. CAMERON, a citizen of the United States of America, residing in the State of New York. city of New York, borough of the Bronx, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Iceream Servers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists of a receiver in the form of. a cylinder cup or spoon or the like attached to a handle within which receiver and handle slides a piston and plunger, so devised that the insertion of the instrument into the receptacle containing the ice cream will cause the receiver to be filled and pressure upon the piston will cause the contents of the receiver to be expelled.
The construction is more fully set forth herein and illustrated in the drawings hereto annexed and forming part hereof.
In the drawing:-Figure l. is a vertical longitudinal section of an ice cream server in which my invention is embodied. Fig. 2. is a vertical longitudinal section of a cap closing the upper end of the cylinder and showing mode of use.
Inthe drawing:-A reprcsonts'the cylinder or receivcr.
Ii represents the hollow handle attached to the eylindcr at the rear end thereof so that the longitudinal axis of the cylinder is in line with the handle this handle being preferably of a frame-like character and having a pistol grip.
(l indicates a plunger rod sliding freely in the handle ll and guided by an opening E in the cap D of the cylinder. The cylinder cap D is detachable and is held in position by angular slots G fitting over and locking upon pins H constituting a bayonet joint. The plunger F serves to eject the contents of the cylinder, The capacity of the cylinder is regulated by the ring K, in
which is a set screw L, the ring K being fastened upon the plunger red C by means of the screw L at any desired point between the cap D and diskF thus regulating length of the stroke or movement of the plunger rod 0. The plunger red C is operated by any suitable means, such as a trigger M set in the handle B at any point convenient for operation by the thumb or fingers of the operators hand.
Upon inserting the receiver into a vessel containing ice cream or other substance to be scrvedythe pressure of the substance upon the plunger Fdrives it and the plunger rod upward in the cylinder A until the ring K comes into contact with and is stopped by the opening E in the cap D. The operator then withdraws the device from the vessel and by pressure upon the trigger M ejects the contents of the cylinder.
Having described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent:
in on ice cream server. the combination of a tubular receiver, a handle connected with the inner end thereof and having a pistol grip, a plunger in said receiver, a plunger rod connected with said plunger and extending rearward through said handle, unda trigger mounted in the said pistol grip and connected with said plunger rod. substantially as described.
Dated New York, this 20th day of July, 1906.
WILLIAM R. CAMERON. In presence of RALSTON FLEMMING, A. M. Vrcrons.
