To'all whom it "My concern:
-Be it known that I, J om: Mom, of the city and county of Camden, and State of New Jersey, have iiivented a new and useful Article of Manufacture for Roofing and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the manner of making and using the same.
My invention consists-in the combination and use of plastic slate, cement, or other composition for roofing, with sheet-iron or metal, so that such ironor'metal may be used for roofing, or for other similar purposes, without corroding from exposure to the weather.
The plastic slate is composed of ground slate and coal-tar, and'is applied to the iron or metal with a trowel or brush, or by dipping it up and spreading it over the surface of the metal, on both sides thereof, as

dried by the atmosphere, as the circumstances of the case may require.
