Be it known that l, ELDKIDGE li. Jonxsov, a citizen of the U mted States, and a resident .of Merion, county of Montgomery, State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Talkiiig-Machines, of which the following is a full, clear, and complete disclosure.
The object of my invention is to provide. a casing or cabinet for talking machines and to arrange the parts thereof in such a manner that there will be no objectionable projections or parts extending from the body of the casing of the machines which would otherwise be liable to become injured or disarranged and also "to arrange said parts in such a manner that the operative mechanism of the talking machine may be entirely inclosed, thereby making the appearance of the apparatus much more pleasing,

Referring to the drawings, llit numeral 1 indicates a rectangular cabinet or casing, the lower portion of which is preferably i'vided into a number of comparlments or pigeonholes :2, each of which is of such size and.

The features of my invention re 11- late the quantity and greatly improve. he quality of the reproduction of the sound, and in the case of the reproduction of the human Voice the reproduction is rendered almost perfect, the quality and sweetness of the original tone being completely preserved and unmixed with any extraneous and harsh vibrations.

It will thus be seen that l have produced an arrangement of parts in a talkhigmachine, such that thesame are very-i compact, and, therefore occupy less space than heretofore the casing or cabinet is made much more pleasing in ap earance, while at the same time the qua ity of the reproduction is 'greatl improved as has been shown by actu experience and tests. 7
Having thus described my invention it is obvious that changes may be made in the form and arrangement of the parts and me chanical equivalents may be substituted without departin from the s irit and scope of my invention, hot what I c aim and desire to protect by Letters Patent of the United States, is
