' This invention relates to tabulating meshanisms oi typewriting and other machines, in which the carriage may be arrested at any desired denomination point with reference to 011s or more column stops. 'l he latter is formed or secured upon a bridge 65 overlying the scale 64 and secured at its ends upon the framing by screws 66. An index 67 extends forwardly from the front carriage bar 4 to co-operate .with said scale 64 toindicate the progress of the carriage.
