PNEUMATIC DEVICE FOR DRAWING OUT GRAINS 'AND SIMILARGOODS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented April 16, 1907.
Application filed September 24,1906. Serial No. 336,029.
1 o specification.
Our invention has the purpose of providing devices for drawing out grains and similar goods with a mouth consisting of two concentric tubes, the jacket-tube serving for intro` ducing air. In order to be enabled to re late the supply of thev air to thelertue, the concentric jacket-tube of the mouthpiece is bent at its free end and dips into the material to be drawn or sucked o "form an' inner nozzle, the diamete'bf which 1s smaller than that of the inner tub The j acket-tube permits the device to be moved up and down. Owing to this arrangement, the cross-section between the jackettube and the inner tube, through whichthe secondary air passes, can be altered by axial adjustment of both the tubes in relation to each other.
In consequence of the arrangement of the nozzle the material to be drawn out is prevented from entering the space formed between the drawing-tube and the jacket-tube, and thereby there is no possibility of obstructing the ath of the air sucked off by a ventilator or an or the like.
In order to make our invention clear, we refer to the accompanying drawing, in which our im roved mouthpiece is illustrated in vertica cross-section.
a desi ates a jacket-tube, and b the concentric awing-tube, the latter being connected with the conduit for leading away the rain (not shown) by means of a screw-collar su porting the jacketed tubev b by a iiange b. or joining the jacket-tube a to the tube .b a flanged ring e is provided, secured to the mantle-tube b and carrying regulating-screws c. The regulatin -screws c are arranged in a flange al of' the tu e a. Between the flanged ring e and the flange a a spring f is arranged, permittin the mantle-tube (L to be adjusted.
At the ee end of the mantle-tube a a nozzle g is provided by turning the end of the tube inwardly and is adapted to project into the inner tube b if the jacket-tube al is adjusted in a corresponding manner by means -of the regulating-screws f. The free end of the inner tube is preferably enlarged in order to be adapted to the nozzle g of the jackettube. The springs f have also the purpose of regulating automatically the cross-section between the nozzle g and the drawing-tube b in case of drawing out heavy materials, whereby the tube a may be raised temporarily too high, thus diminishing said crosssection.
I-Iaving thus fully described the nature of our invention, what we desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is- In a pneumatic device for drawing out grains and similar materials, a mouthpiece consisting of two concentric tubes, the ackettube serving for feeding air, a nozzle ormed at its free end by bending the same inwardly, the diameter of said nozzle being smaller than that of the inner tube, anda ilange-ring fixed to an outer tube, a flange xed to the j acket-tube, screws for connecting both the tubes and springs to regulate the passage formed between the nozzle of the jacket-tube and the free end of the inner tube, substantially as described. j
In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands in the presence of two witnesses.
