No. 847,645. PATENTED MAR.19, 1907. A. & 0. BUGKMANN.
' FEEDING DEVICE FOR TEXTILE FABRICS, PAPER, 6w. Arruouxon rnr'sn NOV.1.1905. I
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
AUGUST BUCKMANN AND OTTO BUCKMANN, OF ODENKIROHEN,
GERMANY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented March 19, 1907.
Application filed November 1, 1905. Serial No. 285,399.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that we, AUeUsT BIJcKMANN and OTTo Bi'JoKMANN, both citizens of Germany, and residents of Odenkirchen, Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Feeding Devices for Textile Fabrics, Paper, &c., of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved apparatus for truly feeding lengths of woven materials, paper, &c., into stretching, printing, and other machines, so that an uneven delivery of such material to the machine and a consequent waste is avoided.
In the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a front view, partly in section, of our improved feeding device; Fig. 2, a plan, partly in section, thereof; and Fig. 3, a side view, partly in section.
The letter (Z indicates a frame in which are j ournaled a pair of feed-rollers a and a guideroller 1), which is arranged back of rollers c and is normally parallel therewith. The roller 1) is journaled in horizontally-adjustable bearings b, which permit the roller b to be set at an inclination to the feed-rollers, if desired. Above roller 1) and at right angles thereto is j ournaled in bearings a a deliveryroller a. The rollers a and b are of substantially the same operative length and are mounted with their axes in perpendicular planes whose intersection passes through the center of the rollers. The ends of roller a have left and right threads a which tend to stretch the material laterally to its full width.
In .use a length of fabric A is passed between rollers c, under roller 1), and over roller a, which delivers it to the stretching, printing, or other machine. By means of the peculiar arrangement of rollers b and a the fabric will be twisted lengthwise between the rollers, so that it is impossible for it to run obliquel If it is deslred to run the fabric slightly to one side, this can be readily effected by adjusting the bearings b.
What we claim is A feeding device for textile and other fabrics comprising a pair of feed-rollers, a guideroller back of the feed-rollers, means for setting the guide-roller at an inclination to the feed-rollers, and a delivery-roller above the guide-roller, the guide-roller and deliveryroller being mounted with their axes in perpendicular planes whose intersection passes through the center of the rollers, substantially as specified.
Signed by us at Dusseldorf, Germany, this 7th day of October, 1905.
AUGUST BUCKMANN. OTTO BUOKMANN.
