This beveled portion is adapted to engage a contact member 51, which is secured upon the trolley-Wire, as shown in Fig. 5 of the drawings. This contact member. is preferably formed by bending and uniting one or more pieces of wire, to form spaced parallel contact-bars 52, which have flared outer ends, so that the beveled portion 50 of the contact-lever 47Inay readily enter between thein. lf desired, this contact meanber or device may be duplicated upon the opposite side of the trolley-pole, as will be readily understood. While this form of circuit-closing device. is preferably employed when the indicators are used upon trolleycars, it will be understood that the magnets 31 and 43 maybe actuated in any other suitable manner, either manuallyor automatically.
