4 IMPROVED COMPOUND FOR COATING- THE OUTSIDE WALLS OF BUILDINGS.
The Schedule referred to these Letters Patent and making part ofthe name.
.Be it known that I, J S. Hou eHTox, .ot, the city and county of Philadelphia, and State ofPennsylvauia, have inventeda new and r1set'iil.Cl1ei11ic'al Compound for Coating and Coloring the Exterior-Valle of Build i ngsf; and I do hereby declare that the following is-a full and exact description thereof, referencebeing had to the accompanying (h'awings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
The nature of my invention or discovery consists'of a chemicalcompound, to. be applied with a brush, for coating and coloring the exterior walls of buildings.
The compound consists of the following ingredients, and generally in the proportions here named, viz:
Scarlet calcareous paint, (Venetian red,) one part,
Brown calcareous paint, one part. 4
Brown calcareous paint and oxide of iron, two parts.
Mineral black, one part.
Hydraulic lime, twenty parts.
Water, folty parts.
The compound is made of any variety of color or shade of color, by the use of various colored earths,
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The chemical compound, consisting of the abovementioned ingredients, and variable proportions of the same ingredients, to be applied with a brush, for coating and coloring the exterior brick, stone, and mortar walls of buildings, substantially as above described.
