.- no) 839,123.1 1 a A plication filed June 30,1906. Serialllo.324=,276-,
- a citizen of thejUnited States of America, re-
siding at Toledo, in'the countyof Lucas and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dishes, of which the following is a/specification, reference being had thereintothe accompanying drawing.
The invention relates generally to a dish, preferably of pressed glass; and particularly a to a dish'ofxthischaracter provided with compartments adapted for articles of various kinds; and the invention consists in the novel and peculiar constructionof the compartment-dish, wherein the partitions or dividing-walls in addition to forming the compart-.
ments serve to strengthen the structure and give an orn'amental appearance to the entire article. i
The single drawing illustrating my invention is a perspective vview of the dish proper. In construction the dish consists of a bowlshaped body A, comprising a base or bottom section B and an inclosing preferably annu lar wall O. f I
' D represents a partitionor wall extending T in this instance diametrically across-the dish and in height corresponding substantiallyto.
the depth of the dish as illustrated, the upper edge of the partition approaching approximately to the rim E. v I
Preferably, but not necessarily, a second ,or complementary partition F is used, intersecting the firstmentioned partition at right Specification of Letters Patent.
' Patented Dec. .25, 1906.
eral length to the other. Both these partitions are integral with the dish proper and I serve, in addition to forming the compartments, as strengthening members reinforcing the dish. v
' G H represent suitable handles for the dish, connected to the dish-body at points opposite one of the partitions, as D. This construction is desirable, as the said partition forms a tie or connecting member intermediate of the handles, thus transmitting the 'strain that is imparted to the dish and serving to strengthen the entire structure. What I claim as my invention is- 1. A pressed-glass dish comprising a bowlshaped body, an integral diametrically-extending partition-wall therein, and handles I joined to the body at the extremities of the dividing-wall.
2. Apressed-glass dish consisting of a bowlshaped body having integral intersecting partition-walls extending, diametrically across the body and upwardly from the bottom in proximity 'to the rim, and handles for the body attached to the latter at'the extremities of one of the partitions. I
In testimony whereof I afliX my signature in'presence of two witnesses.
