Be it known that I, DAVID QUIEN, of Chicago, in the county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented a new and improved Mai-ine 'Weather-Break and I do hereby declare that the following is akfull, clear, and exact description 0f the construction and operation of the same, reference fbeing had to the accompanying drawings and lettersma'rked thereon, making a part'r of this specification, in which Y Figure l is aperspective representation of my invention, with a portion of the eovering broken away,

By this construction of .raft or boat and enclosure, I
.shut ont Wind and waves, and thus preserve a smooth surface on the water within the'enclosnr'e, While Waves and winds are beating around it, and at the saine time, and by the same construction, I shut out the light om the enclosure, which places the workmen in it in a me dium darker Vthan the water below them, and Athus enable theni to see down into the streams, lakes, bays, 85e., in which they maybe Working.
In this exclusionl of light, Wind, and waves, by this' construction and combination of raft or boat and enclo-V sure, consists the novelty of this invention; consequently, the breakpvhile it,preserves these principles, may be of any shape, forni, or size that may bepdesired for submarine work. Y
