Beit known that we, STUART JAcxsoN WELTER and G RovER CLEVELAND WELTER,
and residents o f Roswell, in the' county of Chaves. and Territory of New' Mexico, have invented a new and Improved Lubricator, of which the foltion.
Our invention relatesto a device for ubricating wagon-axles successfully and doin of 'taking the whee from the axle when the oil is applied.

The operation of the device is very simple. In order to lill it with grease,'the tube d is drawn out to the position indicated in dotted lines inFig. 7 s andl the grease placedinthrough the slotd The oiler is then cylindrical passage b', the pin q being moved t ough the slot b2 and turned so that it will ,be retainedv in position. The spring f will force the pin 'back into the reversely-extending portion of the slot, and thus assist inhold- This operation will force the grease into the assage a3 i faces of t e wheel.- 's The turning of the-wheel will distribute the grease, and when-it is `desired to lubricate the bearing again it will be necessary merely to withdraw: the oiler, fill it, and replace it, as before. The wheel does not have to be removed. In a lubricating device, the combination with a bearing element having a depression upon a bearing-surface thereof, and a passage communicating with said depression, of a receptacle mounted adjacent to said bearing element and provided with a passage .communicating with the irst-mentioned passage and with a shoulder near its inner end, and a member mounted within said second passage, said member being provided with a plunger adapted to engage said shoulder, and with a spring for forcing said lun- -ger against the shoulder, said receptac e being provided with means for locking the member in position.

A lubricating device comprising a re- 'I ceptacle having a passage for communicatingwith abearing and providedwith a shoulder at its inner end and a bayonet-slot at its outer end and an oiler in the receptacle and provided with a spring-pressed plun er engaging the shoulder 'of the receptac e and with a pin engaging the bayonet-slot of said receptacle.
