Inventor.
1 Whnij Witnesses W Attorneys the inner and outer shells in contact with the spacing ring. The cement, concrete, or other plastic material is then shoveled orotherwise introduced into. the hopper, from whence it passes into the space between the shells, being subsequently ta'm ed to produce the required homogeneous shell forming the pipe or drain. After the cement has thoroughly set the'keys or slides are removed, which permits the inner shell to contract and the outer shell to expand, thereby releasing the molded product, which latter may be conveniently removed and carried to dr ingracks until sufliciently hard for use. hen it is desired to make two or more short sec- 4 tions of. pipe at one molding operation, the
lower section of the slide 10 is inserted and the cement introduced at the top of said slide, after which the annular partition is inserted and the upper section of the slide 10 placed in dposition, the space between the position an quentl filled wit 1 cement.
Whi e the inner and outer shells comprising the mold are each preferably formed interal, it is obvious that said shells may be armed in two or more sections detachably secured together by the slides or keys.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is l. A mold comprisin inner and outer split expansible shells provi ed with locking-pins, a s acing member interposed between the she s, a sectional slide connecting the adjacent lon' itudinal edges of the outer shell, a continuous slide connectin the longitudinal edges of the inner shell, an locking members secured to the slides and en a ing the locking-pins for retaining the s e ls 1n engagement with the spacing member.
2. A mold comprisin inner and outer split shellsspaced apart andIiaving their adjacent longitudinal edges provided with lockingthe to of the mold being subsepins, slides connecting the longitudinal edges of said shells, transverse bars rigidly secured to one of the slides and providedwith wedgeshaped lugs for engagement with the lockingpins on the outer shell, and lockin members pivoted to the connecting-slide o the inner shell and provided with oppositely-extending inclined lugs adapted to engage the pins on said inner shell.
3. A mold comprising inner and outer split shells spaced apart and having their adjacent longitudinal edges provided with lookingpins, slides connecting the longitudinal edges of said shells, lockingbars secured to the slide of the outer shell, and adapted to engage the pins on said outer shell, locking members pivoted to the slide of the inner shell and rovlded with oppositely-extending inclined ugs adapted to engage the pins on the inner shells, and finger-pieces secured to the pivoted locking member for operating the same.
4. A mold comprising inner and outer split shells spaced apart and having their longitudinal e ges provided with locking-pins, a detachable partition interposed between said shells, slides connectin the longitudinal edges of the shells, locking-bars rigidly secured to the connecting-slide of the outer shell and adapted to engage the pins on said shell, locking members pivoted to the slide of the inner shell and provided with oppositelyextending inclined lu 5 adapted to engage the ins on said inner shell, extensions formed on t e locking members for limiting the tilting movement of the same, and finger-pieces for operating. said members.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
