In Fig. 1 the'pump is of` suiIicient power to raise the water andoreto the dump; but when-themine has'become' too dee the power ofthe suctionpump v8 is not su 'cient to raise the ore and water to the dump, and in such a' case an .intermediate force-pump 22 is used to force :the water4 up to the'dump. When theminehasl become' still deeper, two or moreof these force-pumps- 22' are arranged in tandem'.
