WATER-COOLER.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Eiixnsr OSCAR BUTT, a
citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Water-Coolers, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which'it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to water-cooling devices for use in offices, dwellings, and other laces where devices of this class are required; and the object of the invention is to provide an improved device of this class which is designed for use in connection with a bottle or other water-receptacle having a neck from which the water continually flows into the cooler, the construction and arrangement being such that the How of water from the bottle or other receptacle will be automatically cut off when the water in the cooler rises to a redetermined height;

In the practice of my invention 1 provide a tank a, which is preferably circular in .form and provided with double side walls and a double bottom, between which are spaces a and a which are filled or packed with any suitable non-heat-conducting material. The bottom of the tank a is provided with a de pending annular flange or rim a, which sits in and is supported by a suitable basesupport b, having a flange or rim b within which the flange or rim a fits, and the support b is dish-shaped inform in cross-section, so as to form, a drip-receptacle c. It will be seen that my improved watercooler belongs to the class known as fountam-cooler, the bottle or receptacle is forming a reservoir from which the water slowly flows in the manner described into the water chamber or chambers in the tank a, and this flow of water is automatically cut off whenever the water in said chambers reaches the lower end of the neck of the bottle, and said watercan never flow into the water-chamber h, and

The drip-tube k is removable and is pref erably made tapered, as shown, so as to closely fit a corresponding openin m in the bottom of the'tank a, the ob ect of this construction being to provide means whereby the i ce chamber k may be entirely-drained when necessary by the removal of said tube and whereby a portion of the melting water will be retained in said chamber when desired to aid in cooling the water in the chamber g.
