and IState of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Conveyers for Pie Making Machines, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relatesto improvements in conveyers used in connection with pie-making machines, and embodies a novel construction and arrangement ofthe parts whereby the plate-supports may be readily detached from the bodyof the conveyer when it is desired to change from one size of pie to another.
My invention will be more fully understood by reference to the accompanying drawings, forming part of the specification, and vin which- Figure 1 illustrates a -side elevation `of a conveyer mechanism embodying my improvements. Referring now to the reference-letters.` of the drawings, A A represent the supportin frames of the machine, which are suitab y spaced and held .together by cross-bars a, (1 &c. The frames are rovided withbearings B to support shaflts B B', which carry sprocket-wheels C whereby the endless belt or conveyer C is supported and operated. The conveyer is designed to be operated in.- termittently and to that end may -be provided with such mechanism as that shownr by rivets D D. The inner links or members .are lprovided with flanges D2 Dzvto receive 'brackets C2, which are adjustably secured to the flanges D2 D2 by bolts d2. In the center of each of the cross-brackets C2 is an opening E to receive depending lugs ff of a plate F. The plates F, which are designed to support pie tins or plates and which I shall term plate-holders, are removably secured to the brackets C2 by a connection madeafter the manner of a bayonetjoint-that is to say, the cross-brackets C2 in addition to the openings E are also provided with slotted openings e e vto receive the overlapping ends of the lugs ff, which when turned will bear against inclined rojections e e on the lower side of the brac ets C2, and thus hold the plates F iirmly in place.
In the modification shown Fig. 6 the same general lan is carried out, except that in lieu of the inks D D, I have shown the manner of employing wire ropes or cables G G, by which the brackets may be supported in the usual manner.
