The operation of "'reezi ng once having been bcgun it maybe practically continuous, since it is unnecessary to stop the rotationof the' agitating mechanism to permit the introduction of a new batch of the material. Instead, when the preceding batch has been ejected the valve is closed and the cover raised. The sleeve journaled in the bushing 1) now furnishes a bearing for the shaft E, both these elements being held against lateral movement. The can is again charged and the cover replaced, and the operation proceeds as before. 1t' should be noted that not only is uninterrupted freezing attained, but the gearing is so sltuated that it is whollyout of the way of the operator and may be freely lubricated without danger of the oil passing into the can and contaminatingits contents.
