In a cotton-picliin machine, a frame, vertical shafts journals in said frame,; fulcrum-disksformed in two parts and secured to the said shafts, carrier-arms fulcrumed in said disks, carriers looselycon nected to the outer ends of the arms, rotating picker-fingers journaledrupon each of said carriers, means for moving" the carrier-arms vertically upon their pivots to bring the picker-fingers into position to engage the cotton, gearwheels mounted on each of said picker-lingers, combined with racks between which the picker-fin ers pass and which engage the gear-wholes thereon to rotate the fingers while passing through the cotton, and means for driving said vertical shafts, substantially as described.-

In a cotton-picker, a series of carriers, a seriesof arms between which the carriers are mounted, vertical shafts to which the arms are pivotally connected by horizontal pivots, and means for operating said arms vertically, combined with picker-fingers jonr naled in an inclined position in each of the carriers, and provided with projecting picking-points which are arranged in alinement thereon, means for turning the carriers on their axes, and means engaging the pickingfingers for causing the same to revolve while in engagement with the cotton, substantially as described.

In a cottonicker, the frame supported u on driving-w eels, the beveled gearing on tfie axle of said wheels, horizontal shafts journaled in the frame, and provided with \gearsat their ends to engage the gears on the axle, and with worm-gears at their front ends, vertical shafts journaled in the frame, and provided with gears at their lower ends to enage the worm-gears on the front ends of the orizontal shafts, combined with fulcrumdisks secured to the vertical shafts and rovided with radial slots, arms fulcrume at their inner ends to said disks, carriers pivotally supported between the outer ends of said arms, means carried by said arms for rocking the carriers, a series of picker-fingers journaled in each carrier means for revolving the fingers in unison with the rotation of the vertical shafts and carriers, a flaring U-shaped casing for guiding the cotton to the fingers,
and means for elevating the carriers and arms, substantially as described.
