To r55 whorrz it only corworii:
Be it known that l, GEoRoE G WYATT, of RUXTHF, in the county of Floyd and State of Georgia, have invented certain now and u soful In: irovomonts in Plaster Composition; and I o hereby declare tho 'i'oliowiiigg t ho it full, clear, and exactv (iosoription of tho invnri tion, such as. will onahlo others skilled in ho art to which it apportuim lo moko and use the sumo.
'lho ohjmrl oi my invention irlo proviil :1- iloster ooioposition which nsiilo iron being inexpensive may lH" ,rcorlil trowolorl or worked in ;r very short Limo and will hi light in weight.
A further object is to disponrao with tho nosvssit r oi using a retarder. This I :LHCUBP plisil. by the employment of ingredients Whioh so lmrn'ionize as to prevent the plostor from fixing while being worked and yet wl'iioh will .romlily dry when on the walls.
My composition of matter consists of limo, one hundred pounds; sawdust, ono hundred pounds; slay, two hundred pounds; sand, irso hundred pounds; plnslvcr-ril pziris, three l1iTIi lE'' i pounds, and cement, onv hundred poumla, These ingrorlionm m'o thoroughly mixed together in a dry or powder state, and when so mixed the mass is Vory light and a given quantity can be worked to it greater oxtont than any plaster heretofore known to mo. sand may be added and the Proportions started If rlcuirod, an additional amount of are productive of the best results. It is only nooossary to arid the proper quantity of {water to bring the composition of matter to the proper consistency. 4
A plaster morlo of the constituents specified trowris p smooth ant} Fhen onvo worlwd m a Willi will harilon in a vs T short spaoo of time and wresent 11 mm: 1 smoother appearance than those plasters omployirr wood fiber. The surfacemay he roughened, if desired, and provision may he morlo for plasters of different colors by odd ing the pi'opor ooloringlimiters. have found th at my Culnposition is most admirable for retaining applications ol whitewash, 333* oinfiii'io and paints in glrnorni but. aside from all these advantages 1 attach special importame to the fast that m com )osition being so very light one ton t ioreo will cover a greater area of wnllhpaoo than has heretol'm'o been yossihle with any plaster composition known to me.
I claim as my invention- A dry powder for plaster consisting of lime, sawdust, clay, sand, plaster-of-paris, and eement, in substantially the roportions stated.
In testimony whereof l have signed this Si}ifi9tltl( ll in the presence of two subsoribing witnesses.
