TO ALL WHOM 1r MAY ooncnnm .Be it known that we, Hsnnrson S. Snow and EDGAR J. Humans, of Macon, in the county of Macon, and -State ofMissonri, have invented a; new and improved Fire and Water-Proof Cement; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those slrilled in the art to make and use the same. 1

In carrying out our invention we proceed asfollows We take of-- Common en ml, three'qusrts. Rosedale cement, one quart. Iron-tnrnin s, Im bulk,) one quart.
Cnlcined fire-cla one-hnlf quart. I I Common slate (reduced,) one-fourth quart. Common en t, one hundred and thirty-five grains. Sal-ammomac, ten grains.
Yellow ochre, Venetian red,'or other pigment, for coloring, may be added to suit the taste. f
The whole of the above ingredients are well mixed up with water in a vat to a. consistency suitable for applied with a trowel.
being It is necessary to apply this cement immediately after mixing, as other-wise it becomes hard, and it should be applied twelve or fifteen hours before being exposed to rain.
Having thus described our invention, we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- A fire-and water-proof cement, composed of the ingredients, a
