The nature of my invention consistsin the use of `a revolving screen working on a stationary axis set at 'a slight inclination from a horizontal position, and having attached to, or suspended from lit, `lugs or crushers, which byftheir` weight, lserve to pulverize the' clay, the stock orclay being fed in at one end of the screen, which by its revolving motion, carries or drags the stock under the lugs or Crushers, thereby breaking and pounding it, the pulverized clay :falling through `the apertures of the screen, and the Waste .or hard lumps and stones mixed up with the stockbein expelled at the back or lower end o the screen.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and'use my invention I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.

and described, in combination, may be used. The lugs or Crushers c, c, c, c, c, may be made of any material, si'Ze shape and weight. c, e, e, e, are pickers, arranged in a radial form round a small drum E, keyed to an axis r, working at either end in side levers or pieces F, F, the pickers e, e, e, e, are of nearly the same length as the bars a, a, a, a, of the screen and are of proper thickness and width apart to drop into the spaces between the bars a a a a.
The side levers F, F, are hung on a rod m, forming a joint on which to work, :and their I will now proceed further to describe the operation. The stock or rough clay is fed by the hopper D, into the screen formed of bars a, c5, a, a, entering under the lugs 0,0, c', o, c, and by the revolving motion of lthe screen in the direction shown by arrow.
Figs. l, 3 and 5, the stock is carried under the lugs c, c, c, o, c, which yield or give,
working on their joint 0, and so produce a' pressure by their weight, on the clay, which l serves to clear the stock, the line and workable portion, being pulverized, and passing through the spaces between the bars a, a., a, a; and the waste, or hard lumps and stones, mixed up in the stock, being worked out of the back end of the screen, the inclination of which downward, and the revolving motion of the screen, serving to expel the same. The object of the rod p, or cords i, z', i, z', is to prevent the lugs from rubbing the screen which would create unnecessary friction. The several lugs or crushers may be made of different sizes shapes or weights, those at the mouth of the screen if desirable made so as to merely break the stock and the after Crushers or lugs to pulverize the liner clay which is collected under the screen formed by the bars a, a, a, 0L, and is thus tempered or prepared for making bricks.
The pickers e, e, e, e, may be thrown in or out of gear with the bars a, w, a, a, by lowering or raising the side levers F, F, working as a hinge joint on the rod x.. By unfastening the hook g, Fig. 5, the pickers e, e, e, e,
'are thrown in gear entering the spaces of the bars a, a, a, a, which as the screen rotates, drives or causes to rotate also the pickers e, e, e, e, which pick out or clear the screen of any soft clay or dirt which may cloO the s aces between the bars a a a a.
By the hook g, the picker is thrown in or out of gear and used only as required.
W'hat I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- The use of a revolvingv screen constructed of bars ce, a, a, a, set at a slight inclination vpurpose herein set forth.
