To this cross-tube L any desired number of lines may be secured by means of the sleeves and clamps, similar to the sleeves L and clamps L The sleeves L may be adjusted and set by the set-screw Lso as to run into the cashiers or central station from different points and affords an accessible and efficient arrangement for securing any number of lines at the central station diverging at different parts of the store.

Having thus described the nature of my invention and set forth a construction embodying the same, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is

1. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, and a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections pivoted together and provided with means for opening said sections when removed from the carrier.

2. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, and a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections pivoted together and provided with yielding means for opening said sections when removed from the carrier.

3. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, and a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections pivoted together at their upper ends and provided with means for opening said sections when removed from the carrier.

4. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a

carrier adapted to travel on said way. and a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections pivoted together at their upper ends and provided with yielding means for opening said sections when removed from the carrier.

5. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections, a common shaft on which said sections are pivoted at their upper ends, and a spring around said shaft and adapted to open said sections when the receptacle is removed from the carrier.

6. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections, a common shaft on which said sections are pivotedat their upper ends, a spring around said shaft and adapted to open said sections when the receptacle is removed from the carrier, and means on the carrier for holding said sections closed when the receptacle is connected to the carrier.

7. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, a removable receptacle connected to said way and consisting of two sections, a common shaft on which said sections are pivoted at their upper ends, a spring around said shaft and adapted to open said sections when the receptacle is removed from the carrier, and means consisting of aspring-pressed plate and inward flange on said carrier for holding said sections closed when the receptacle is connected to the carrier.

8. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a hanger for supporting said way, a carrier adapted to travel on said way, a propellingcord, pulleys around which said propellingcord is arranged, a handle for operating said cord, and a pivoted pulley-block on the lower end of said hanger adapted to follow the direction of pull on the cord by said handle.

9. In a store-service apparatus, a way, a casting to which said way is connected, a sleeve for supporting said casting, a post on which said sleeve is adjustably secured, a cross-support carrying said post, and a hanger for supporting said cross-support.
