HU'rcHINsoN, of Auburn, in the county of Androsooggin, and in the State of Maine, have invented ,new and useful Improvements in-Land-Rollers; and I do hereby'v'deelare that the following is a full, oiear, and exact description there?, referencebeing had to'the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specifica-tion.

The roller-,is-conneeted to any frame by means of its journals d d, and suitablev bearings therefor on the frame. f

It will be seen thatl the heads B B are solidr plates, with llanges 'and journals ongtheir exteriors, as described,

and prevent the ingress of clodsof dirt, or stones or otherr substances when the "roller is in operation. By means of these plates, as constructed, I can regulate Athe weight of theroller to s uit the earth that is being rolled.; for instance, I may use thc roller without any llingat all, or I can extract one of the heads from the staves, and place ailling, A,.cr a-partial lling, when desired.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
