Each of the outer pedestals has an outer longitudinally-extending bracket-lug 0, connected to which is a tie-barp, the same extending to and having connection with the downturned end of the top bar at the extreme end of the truck.

The truck-frame, of which at each side of the truck are counterparts of the structure shown and described united by the end tie bars J and also by centrally-located tie-bars, maybe constructed for large and heavy trucks in a durable, strong, and reliable manner and with comparative convenience, and the structure as described and shown enables the combination therewith of the equalizing-bar M, having the angular end portions thereof resting on the tops of the journal-boxes, said equalizing bar, through the half elliptic spring W, sustaining the bolster O, on which the car is carried, for up-aud-down yielding movements, it being perceived that portions of the equalizing-bar may be disposed between the longitudinally-ranging side portions of truck-frame described.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters latent, is-
1. In a truck-frame, in eombinatirm, an intermediately-located part comprising opposi le pairs of upstanding jaws ff, with a bolster accommodating space therebetween, and having longitudinally-ranging base portionsf, inner and outer side bars bolted to the base members f and extended endwise therebeyond, journal-box pedestals having extensions arranged alongside of said inner and outer side bars and bolted thereto, and uniting connections between upper portions of the jaws and upper portions of the pedestals.
2. In a truck-frame, in combination, an intermediately-located part comprising opposite pairs of upstanding jaws ff, with a bolsteraccommodating space therebetween, and having longitudinally-ranging base portionsf, inner and outer side bars bolted to the base members 1, and extended endwise therebeyond, journal-box pedestals having extensions arranged alongside of said inner and outer side bars and bolted thereto, bolster thrustblocks, fitted between and bolted 'to the jaws ff, and top bars Ur, overlyingon, and bolted to, and extended between, the upper portions of the bolster thrust-blocks and the pedestals.
3. In a truck-frame, in combination, inner and outer pairs of jaws, each comprising the upstanding jaw members ff, and the uniting base member f inner and outer side bars arranged in parallelism and bolted to the base members f, and extended endwise therebeyond, journal-box pedestals, the inner ones of wardly-opening bolster-space therebetween,
and having longitudinally-ranging base portionsf uniting each side pair of said jaws, inner and outer longitudinally-ranging side bars C C arranged sidewise against said base portions f and having bolts connecting such parts, and said side bars extending longitudinally beyond the ends of the base portions of the jaw-comprising parts, the separated outer and inner pedestals, the inner ones having longitudinally inwardly extending members arranged facewise against the extremities of the side bars and bolted thereto, blocks fitted between and connected to upper portions of said pairs of jaws ff, and the top bars G G overlying, bolted to, and extended between, the

In a truck-frame, in combination, an in termediately-located part comprising opposite pairs of upstanding jaws f f, with an upwardly-opening bolster-space therebetween, and having longitudinally-ranging base portions f uniting each side pair of said jaws,'in ner and outer longitudinally-ranging side bars C C arranged sidewise against said base portions f and having bolts connecting such parts, and said side bars extending longitudinally beyond the ends of the base portions of the jaw-comprising parts, the separated outer and inner pedestals, theinner ones having longitudinally inwardly extending members arranged facewise against the extremities of the side bars and bolted thereto, blocks fitted between and connected to upper portions of said pairs of jaws ff, and the top bars G G over- .lying, bolted to, and extended between, the
tops of said blocks and the pairs of pedestals and further endwise extended terminating at a level lower than the tops of the pedestals, and tie-bars connecting the outer pedestals and the extremities of the top bars.

In a truck-frame, in combination, an intermediately-located part comprising opposite pairs of upstanding jaws ff with an upwardly-opening bolster-space therebetween and having longitudinally-ranging base portions f uniting side pairs of said jaws, inner and outer longitudinally-ranging side bars C C arranged sidewise against and along said base portions fand bolted thereto, and said side bars extending longitudinally beyond the ends of the base portions f, the separated inner and outer pedestals A and A having the horizontal top bracket extension It and if, each inner pedestal having a downwardly and longitudinally inwardly extending portion a, arranged facewise against and bolted to an extremity of the respectively-adjacent side bar, and each outer pedestal having at its lower portion a longitudinally outwardly extending bracket 0, the bolster thrust-block F fitted between and bolted to upper portions of the. pairs of jaws f f, being arranged with their inner edges removed from the inner edges of the jaws, whereby the grooves for bolster wise and terminating in the angular portion bolts connecting said top bars with the several said brackets, and the tie-bars connecting the lower outer pedestal-brackets 0 with the said top bar angular members 73, substantially as described.

In a truck-frame, in combination, an intermediately-located part comprising'opposite I pairs of upstanding jaws ffwith an upwardlyopening bolster-space therebetween and having longitudinally-ranging base portions f uniting side pairs of said jaws, inner and outer longitudinallyranging side bars C C arranged sidewise against and along said base portions f and bolted thereto, said side bars extending longitudinally beyond-the ends of the base portions f the separated inner and outer pedestals A and A having the horizontal top bracket extension 71, and ]b2, each inner pedestal having a downwardly and longitudinally inwardly extending portion 0/, arranged facewise against and bolted to an extremity of the respectively adjacent side bar, and each outer pedestal having at its lower portion a longitudinally outwardly extending bracket 0, the bolster thrust-block F fitted between and bolted to upper portions of the pairs of jaws ff, and having at their tops the bracket extensions'g g, and each top bar extending horizontally and longitudinally from a position over and against each bracket extension g over and upon the pedestal-brackets IL and if and having the downwardly-continued inclined portion is, the longitudinally-continued portion 70 and the downwardly-terrninating portion 71 bolts connecting said top bars with the several said brackets, the tie-bars 7) connecting the lower outer pedestal-brackets 0 with the said top-bar angular members if, and the braces 1 connected and extended between the pedestal-brackets 0 and the portions 71: of the top bars.

In a truck-frame, in combination, an intermediately-located part comprising opposite pairs of u pstanding jawsf f with an upwardlyopening bolster-space therebetween and having longitudinally-ranging base portions f uniting side pairs of said jaws, inner and outer longitudinally ranging side bars C C arranged sidewise against and along said base portions f and bolted thereto and said side bars extendinglongitudinally beyond the ends of the lease portions f the separated inner and outer pedestalsA and A having the horizontal top bracket extension lb and if, each inner pedestal having a downwardly and longitudinally inwardly extending portion u, arranged facewise against and bolted to an extremity of the respectively adjacent side .bar, and each outer pedestal having at its lower portion a longitudinally outwardly extending bracket 0, the bolster thrust-block l fitted between and bolted to upper portions of the pairs of jaws ff, and having at their tops the bracket extensions and the top bar extending horizontally and longitudinal] y from a position over and against each bracket extension r over and upon the pedestal-l)racle ets l2 and la? and continued downwardly and further ondwise and terminating in the angular portion Zr", bolts connecting said top bars with the several said brackets, the bars 1/ u on the top bars over the pairs of pedestals, the spring-caps next under the top bars in the spaces between the pedestals, bolts extending through the said caps, top bars and superimposed bars a, and the tie-bars connecting the lower outer pedestal-brackets 0 with the said top-bar angular members Z, and the tiebars J secured to the top-bar members A and extending crosswise of the truck-Frame, snbstantially as described.
