In order to keep the brake-band 11 from sagging,so as to rest against the brake-drum when released, I provide a supporting-arm 20, secured to the distance-rod 7 and extending around the axle to the opposite side of the brake-ring. The outer end of this arm is reduced in diameter and into an opening formed in a lug 21 on the brake-ring. The brake-ring therefore is supported at approximately two diametrically opposite pointsthat is, at the point 21 and on the rock-shaft 15. The end of the arm 20 fits loosely in the opening in the ring and projects practically radially of said ring, so that the reduction of the diameter of the ring, which ring except when it is deslred to apply the latter thereto. The sprocket-wheel 10 is connected to the wheel-spokes by detachable clips 22.
