.'lfo all whom Vit may concern: `Be it known that I, J OsIAH A. DAwsON,a citizen-of theUnited States, residing at Okarche, in the county of Canadian and Territory of 5 Oklahoma, have invented a certain new and useful Improvementin Labels, of which the -following is a specification.

'.lhspinvention has relation to labels, the purpose being to prevent cutting of the attach- Vfor reinforcing portions of the label border- 'Qing upon the opening through which the attaching-cord is .passed v The invention consists, essentially, of the 1,5- novel features which hereinafter will be more pmticnlarly set forth, illustrated, and finally claimed.

the label and having inner and outer portions laterally deflected and bent to provide rounded portions to prevent cutting of the cord or injury thereto. A portion of the outer edge of the .label is bent laterally from opposite sides, as indicated at 2, and a portion 3, bordering uponthe opening 4 and adjacent to the outer edge, is bent laterally from opposite sides of the label in a similar manner to the part 2. The laterally-bent portions 2 and 3 provide a rounded portion to be encircled by the attaching-cord, whereby the same is prevented from being cut or frayed.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new isi A sheet-metal label having an opening near its edge to receive an attaching-cord, and having a portion bordering upon said opening bent laterally from opposite sides to form a rounded edge, and having a portion of lthe outer edge adjacent to the said Opening similarly bent from opposite sides and indented, the rounded edges receiving the cord and prefeting injury thereto, substantially as speci- In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
