GOLF-CLUB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 734,065, dated July 21, 1903.
Application filed January 24, 1903- Serial No. 140,426. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, OSCAR HEEREN, gentleman, a subject of the King of Spain, residing at Villa Heeren, Biarritz, France, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Golf-Clubs, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to obtain a striking-face which is not only hard, but is also in the highest degree elastic. For this purpose I employ glass, under which term I include substances having the same properties as glass, such as quartz, crystals, flint, and the like; but it does not include any comparatively inelastic substance, such as earthenware. The glass is generally in the form of a block let into and secured in the head of a club.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a club made according to this invention; and Fig. 2 is a 20 section on the line 2 2, Fig. 1.

I claim-- 1. A golf-club having a striking-face of glass. Y
2. In a golf-club, the combination of a head fitting into the hollow, and pins engaging with grooves in the block and entering holes in the head.
