SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 727,016, dated May 5, 1903.

Application filed February 6, 1903. Serial No. 142,190. (No model.)

To all whom, it may concern:

Be it kn own that I, MARTHA J. STECKMAN,

a citizen of the United States of Amer'ica,residcertain new and useful Improvements in Ourtain-Pole Attachments, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in curtain-pole attachments, and relates more particularly to that class wherein the use of rings is entirely dispensed with.

My invention has for its further object a curtain-pole attachment wherein the curtainsecuring means may be readily applied to any pole.

This invention has for its further object a curtain-securer which is very simple to construct, efficient in operation, and inexpensive to manufacture.

With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, and specifically pointed out in the claim. 7

In describing the invention in detail reference is had to the accompanying drawings, forminga part of this specification,and wherein like characters of reference indicate like parts throughout both views, in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation showing my iniproved curtain-pole attachment applied to a window. Fig. 2 is a perspective View of my improved curtain-pole attachment.

In order to carry out the various objects of my invention, I provide an adj ustable curtain-securer l in the form of a pin that is stitched through the curtain, as shown at 2. The curtain-pole is suspended from the window-frame by any suitable form of hooks, as shown atAin Fig. 1 of the drawings. The pin is pivoted at 3 in the bifurcated ends 4, made integral with the-frictional bands 5, and in I provide a tightening-screw 7, that is threaded to lugs 8. Band 9 is of the same construction as 5 with the exception of a spring-retaining book 10 for the admission of curtain-pin when in position. By so forming the hook in a U shape and slightly bent inward will act as a lock when the pin is forced therein, thus making it difficult to become accidentally dislodged.

I desire to call attention to the fact by my improved-curtain attachment I can readily adapt the same to any Width of curtain by simply releasing the set-screws and adjusting it tosuit the various sizes of curtains.

I do not wish tolimit myself to the exact details of construction, as various changes may be made from time to time without departing from the general spirit of my invention.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'

The combination with a curtain-pole of an attachment therefor consisting of a long pin provided withan aperture at its unpointed end and two clamping-bands the ends of each being provided with laterally-projecting perforated lugs, each band being clamped upon the pole by means of a screw-passed through such perforations, one band provided withlaterally-projecting perforated ears between which the pin is pivoted at its apertured end and the other bandprovided with a hook adapted to engage the pointed end of said pin, substantially as described.
