From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it is thought that the Construction, operation, and advantages of my improved shoe will be readily apparent without requiring a more extended explanation.

Various changes in the form, proportion, and the minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the principle or sacrificing any of the advantages of this invention.

Having thus described my invention, what l claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

A waterproof boot or shoe comprising inner and outer soles, an upper having a continous vamp divided at the heel and having its divided edges overlapping, an outer vain p sewed at its upper edge to the inner vamp and having its lower edge secured with the lower edge of the inner Vamp to and between the soles, said outer vamp being also divided at the heel and having its divided edges overlapping, a beek strap having its ends lying, respectively, on the inner side of the inner vamp and between the overlapping ends of the two Vamps, a rivet passing through and uniting the outer end of the back strap and the divided ends of the Vamps at a point between their edges, and lines ot' vertical stitching on opposite sides of the rivet and securing the edges of the divided ends ofthe Vamps and the ends of the back strap together, substantially as described.
