c represents. thefhand-power attachment,
which is designed to be yeasily and'vquicklyattached to and detached from an ordinay vehicle, especiallya childs-wagon, while being neat in appeara ce,.of lightweight, snh- .stantiah durable, a d economicalin its-manui-- facture'. In connection 4therewith is provided an adjustableseat d and a guiding at' tachment e. ff Y To the body a oit" the wagon is attached a transverse fnlerum-rod 2' by suitable hangr ers 3 and bolts 4,' and upon the extremity of the rod 2 is pivoted a lever 5fbeingsecured in position therein by means ofa sleevecbl lar 6 and its set-screw 7. The end of the'rod'V 2 projects laterally from the bodyof the wagon suiiiciently to provide for clearance of the wheel b by the connecting-rod 8,'which extends from the lower arm of said lever to crimps Vl0 or inwardfprojectionsof its able guide-bar "17.
'the adjustable crank-plate or wheel-'crank attachment `9. JIheexten'sion f of :the rod 2 'islalso designed to providejttvo journal-pol, y

The` connecting-rod is Amade with :inward-bent 65 ends'which engage. perforationsj in the end of thelower/arm of -the lever andl in the crank .projection -'of the crankfplate. This constructionnay be modified by .u singpivots,
if desirable; but it ,isl not sofeconomioai or '7o' 'stron'g,
-Thelever 5 is provided with a handle por-l vtion 12 'of suitable-form for easy mannalopf 'erations in effecting rotation of the-wheel. I
' The wagonis guided by means of the tongue, 7 5 to which is attached a detachable' and adjust' A holdingniook 1511105' prevent lthe tongue from .falling forward is usually provided with the attachment, Asuch hook being'readily at- 8otached to and detached fronrthe tongue .and 1 having its 'downward-tamed end'or ends en'- gaging thevfrontofthewagon. l The seat 16 is'raised in vposition when the handle attachment-is u 'sed and is detachable, 8`5 being connected to the v body by means of hi'nge'devices or link-plates 19, which maybe removed., It consists of a box-like body having a hinged bottom 2 0, .which when the'seat-box is turned back again'st', the end ofthe wagon- 9o body becomes a -cover to thebox'attachmen t;
- When-the attachment is `'turned uprit rests 'ou the sidewalls of the' wagonand becomes a seat.' f tltsdepth, including its s'idearms 18,
is equal to the depth-of the side wall 'of the 95 wagon.- 1
The' hand-power attachment may beduplition in conl'iectionwith` each oithe rearwheels. o'o
Instead of connecting the' wheel-'crankattachment to :the spokes/of the wheel itnray be connected to the hub of the Wheel; but the spoke connection is preferred, havlng more spread or purchase.
I am aware that the construction can be varied by those skilled in the art without departing from 'my invention, and therefore I (lo not Wish to be confined to the exact construction shown and described.
That I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. For a childs Wagon, the detachable propelling attachment comprisi ng the transverse fulcru Ina-od, its means of attachment,the le-A ver pivoted thereon, the detachable Wheel-- crank attachment, and the connecting-rod from said lever to said Wheel-crank attach# ment, substantially as specied.
2. For; a childs wagon, the detachable propelling attachment comprising the transverse fulcrum-rod, its means of attachment, the double-bearing' lever thereon, the sleeve-collar and set-screw, the Wheel-crank plate, its means of attachment, and the connecting-rod, substantially as specied.
3. For a childs wagon, the detachable propelling attachment comprising the transverse fulcrum-rod, its means of attachment, the double-bearing lever thereon, the sleevecollar and set-screw, the marginally-crimped Wheel, crank-plate, and the connecting-rod, substantially as specied.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two Witnesses.
