UNITED STATES ATENT OFFICE.
PAN-RING FOR COPPERS.
sPEGIFIGATION formingpart of Letters Patent N 0. 718,219, dated January 13, 1903.
Application filed July 17, 1902. Serial No. 115,952. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, WILLIAM THOMAS Row, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and a resident of Lower Edmonton, in the county of Middlesex, England, have invented cerrain-new and useful Improvements in Pan- Rings for Coppers, (for which I have obtained a patent in Great Britain, No. 26,129, dated December 21, 1901,) of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification.
This invention relates to an improved means of fixing coppers or copper pans, the object being the provision of a means whereby the pan may be readily taken out when desired. To accomplish this purpose, I provide a metal ring, which is built into the surrounding brickwork and upon which the edge of the copper or pan rests and will be supported thereon over the fireplace.
Referring to the annexed drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of my invention; Fig. 2, a side elevation, partly in section; Fig. 3, a side elevation of pan.
The ring a is built into the'usual brickwork and is provided with three lugs 17 on the under surface thereof to facilitate the proper and firm setting thereof. The ring 0 of the copper d rests upon the curved portion e of the ring a, the usual projections f, formed on the under surface of the ring 0 of the copper or pan, engaging in the recesses g of the ring a, h being recesses for allowing the insertion of a tool underneath the ring 0 of the pan when it is desired to remove same.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In coppers, a ring adapted to be supported 'in brickwork and having an inner curved surface provided with an inner and outer series of recesses in its upper side and fasten- WILLIAM THOMAS ROW.
