w Be it known that I, EDWRD S, EARLEY, of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania,` 1

Any suitable rigid material may comprise the`fastening, but itis desirable to make it `oiicast metall By using my invention, the repulsive mode of screwing ou thelid tothe body of the casket orcoin `inthe` i cannot be opened without destroying the receptacle. The means of fastening are entirely concealed, but sure in execution.

This fastening can likewise be applied to other receptacles and boxes of any kind, and it will be found to besimple, practical, and useful. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure bykLettel-s Patent, is

The concealed fastening herein described, the same consisting of the plate C, with slot a b, and the stud D c 0l, applied respectively to the under side of thelid B an'd top edges ofthe body A, and operating together, substantially as specified and shown, and for the purposes and uses herein set forth.
