IMPROVEMENT IN MANURE-IORK.

Beit known that I, PETER YENGST, of Union Deposit, in the county of Dauphin, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and improved Manure-Fo'rk; and I do hereby declare that the following is afull and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification- Figure I being a side view of the fork,

Like letters designate corresponding parts in all of the figures.

The instrument is composed of a shat't or beam, A, cross-head or standard B, handles C C, and the fork having two outer prongs E E, und middle prong or prongs G, as the essential `or principal parts. At the upper or forward end of the shaft or beam is a ring or clevis, a, for lifting or drawing by. The shaft or beam is braced to thecross-head or standard B by o rod, b. The fork is secured to the cross-head or standard by bolts ff, passed through the shank g of the fork. The handles C Cure secured to the shaft or bem by loops or ,sytirrups c c, and to the cross-head or standard by a bolt, L, there being blocks d d between them, to keep the handles sutiiciently separated. The handles C C are adjusted to diiferent angles, in relation to the shaft or beam, by mea-ns of a set of holes, z' z', in the cross-head or standard, through any one of which the bolt L may be passed. The middle prong (or prongs) G is made somewhat shorter than the outer prongs E E, so thzitit may not be so liable to catch into the ground or against any obstruction. The outer prongs arereadilyscen, and can be guided by the handles. A horse or team drawing upon the slmt't or beam A, will fill the fork with mztnure, and hoist it by a rope to any position for emptying into acnrt or other receptacle. VThe movements of the implement are guided by the handles, both for filling the fork and for emptying it. 'lheir proper position is determined by adjusting to different holes z'z'to suit the person or place.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure' by Letters Pax-tent, isi? The improved manure-fork constructed and arranged with the handles C C, adjustable by the blocks d d down und up on the standard B, and with the middle prong G short-er than the outer prongs E, substantially as and for the purpose herein specified. y
