TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be it known that I, T. M. DANIEL, of Athens, in the county of Clarke, and State of Georgia, have invented a new and improved Ague Medicine; and I do hereby declarethat the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to fully understand and make use of the same.
This invention relates to a new composition or rather application of certain ingredients, which, when applied in the manner hereinafter specified, form a cure and preventive for ague, fever, Stc.
The medicine consists of the following ingredients compounded in about the proportions herein stated, viz: 7} (one-half)-ounce of the stem, leaves, and bloom of Antennm'ia margantacca, (life'everlasting;) 1 (one) grain of Salvz'a qfiicz'nalz's, (garden sage;) 1 (one) quart of spring water. The life-everlasting and sage are added to the water, and the whole boiled in a close vessel for three minutes, or about that period, when it is removed from the fire and allowed to cool.
I When the first symptom of the approach of a chill is shown the patient is given about 5 (five) fluid ounces of the medicine, which effectually breaks the chill, or, in other words, prevents it. The dose may vary in quantity from that specified above, as will be determined by the condition of the patient and aggravation of the disease.
The above'irigredients form an excellent, effective, and new preventive and cure for ague, chills and fever, &c., the efficacy of which I have tested in numerous instances with perfectly satisfactory results. I

A composition or medicine composed of the ingredients in about the proportions herein set forth and for the purpose specified.
